How Open Initiative works
From proposal to public initiative
Sign in, describe the issue and the change you propose, then choose a place or worldwide scope. Follow the decision in My initiatives. An approved proposal gets its own public page to share.
What support means
Support expresses agreement with a proposal. Each account can support it once and withdraw that support at any time. The public sees the total, not a list of names.
What becomes public
Approved pages show the title, location, issue, proposal and any organizer name you choose to publish. Pending and returned proposals are visible to the organizer and the editor. A private account identifier links submissions and support to your account.
